Let's get started...
Undoubtedly, everyone in this country is aware of the two major news stories...the economic situation and the Presidential election. My opinion of the economic situation is not really something that belongs in this space, but let me just say that the American people will NOT sit still for this. It's my personal opinion that anyone who voted "YEA" on the bill should not be re-elected.
The election is my main focus here, that and its aftermath. It has become increasingly apparent to me that most Americans are becoming more and more disenchanted with the two-party system. Protest votes for other candidates are becoming more and more fashionable. I'm here to tell you that there HAS to be a better way. Americans need to do their homework on candidates, they need to ask questions and make INFORMED decisions.
Republicans like to insulate Big Business; Democrats like to give things away.
Business is business, like it or not, it is a fact of life. Businesses ask for (and receive) tax breaks for numbers of reasons, the most common is to simply not pay taxes and increase their bottom line. How does this affect us? Lower prices, increased wages, better benefits...those sorts of things.
Let me ask a question: Why is it that the American government can support people/families through the welfare system for their entire lives, lives of doing nothing, yet will only support hard-working Americans who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own for only six months? Is there something wrong here?
I'm just asking...
